E-E-A-T (formerly E-A-T, updated to include Experience in December 2022) is the framework Google's Quality Raters use to evaluate content quality. Experience refers to first-hand knowledge of a topic; Expertise is the depth of knowledge demonstrated; Authoritativeness is the reputation of the content creator and site; Trustworthiness is the most important component, covering accuracy, transparency, and security. E-E-A-T matters most for YMYL (Your Money or Your Life) content — health, finance, legal, and safety topics. Practical signals include author bios with credentials, cited sources, clear editorial policies, and positive third-party mentions.
