The Situation
Premium salon clients are intensely visual: they choose a salon based on seeing work they want replicated. Without consistent transformation content, potential clients had no way to evaluate whether the salon's aesthetic matched theirs. The 2,000-follower account was posting product promotions and stock images — neither showed what the stylists could actually do.
The Turning Point
One stylist posted her own iPhone Reel of a blonde transformation she was proud of. It got 12,000 views and 8 direct messages asking to book with her specifically. Rachel saw what the content could do if done consistently.
What We Did — And Why
We activated every stylist as a content creator under the salon account. Each posted 2 Reels per week focused on their specialty: one transformation and one technique or education post. The transformation format followed a consistent structure: before, mid-process stylist commentary explaining the technique and product choices, and finished result. Client features showed the relationship between stylist and regular — humanising the brand and demonstrating retention.
Our Approach
- 1.Transformation Reels: before/during/after colour journeys with stylist commentary and technique explanation
- 2.Stylist personal brand activation: each stylist posting their own specialty content under the salon account
- 3.Client feature content with consent: 'meet our regulars' stories building community and social proof
The Results
Instagram following grew 10x in 7 months. New client bookings from Instagram DMs increased 340%. Every stylist's calendar filled to a 6-week lead time. The salon turned down walk-ins for the first time in its history.
In Their Own Words
“Our work was always there — we just weren't showing it. The moment we showed it consistently, people understood exactly who we were for.”
